Okay, Have to Say It.

I've held my tongue long enough. I've been understanding. I realize that writing erotica is NOT everything (well, I have played with the idea intellectually, at least). But it's a fucking, crying, bastard of a sin that Mike Kimera absolutely refuses to write any more erotica.

Yes. I know this post will piss you off, Mike. I know you'll feel it's an embarrassing dishonourable act of impoliteness that I simply can't respect your wishes. But you know what? Fuck it. In this regard, I have no shame. You are the best erotica writer I have ever read. No matter how hard I work at it, I know I will never write half as well as you. It just fucking kills me to think of all the stories you might have written that will only ever exist like stillborns floating in the formaldehyde on my imagination. (How's that for a bit of purple prose?)

For the rest of you, who have not read Mr. Kimera's work, take some time to read through the linked stories and THEN tell me I'm an impolite bitch for kicking up a fuss about his retirement.

There's more out there. And, whatever you find, you will never be sorry you took the time to find it. Not once. He has also published a considerable number. His site has links to where you can purchase them on Amazon.

I dashed over and read "Other Bonds than Leather." Aside from the fact that certain tender parts were pulsing madly. It reminded me of so economically of how my Master snared me... had me begging him to allow me to serve him. The story is both educational and arousing. It would be a shame for the genre to lose such a writer.

But at least I know about him now.

thank you for all these links!! I look forward to relishing each story.

A writer's mind is a terrible thing to waste! I have read Mike's stories before and they were wonderful! I read Fucking Ugly a while ago on Erotica Readers & Writers Association and was really impressed.

I honestly believe that some of the most talented writers today, write in the realm of erotica and it it really sad if they feel they need to stop writing for whatever reason, especially if they are really talented - like RG and you Mike.

RG, can you share with us why he quit?

You and Mike were actually my two favorites when I used to read over at ERWA a lot.

"Beam Work," "My Brother's Wife," and "A Walk in the Park," were some of my favorites, and I hate hate hate "Back When We Were Happy," but only because it's so good (that will probably make more sense if you remember the story. :))

RG, you are absolutely right. I spent some time last night reading your recommendations. It's tragic that he has decided to stop writing.

In Jack's Hands has long been a favorite of mine. Thank you for posting these, it was a pleasure to read them again. I will certainly miss Mike Kimera's talent. Hopefully your "impolite" post will help convince him to throw us a bone once in a while.

Mmmmm, I agree R.G. Mr. Kimera, like yourself, invites the reader into the room with his words. A truly good writer that as you read, makes you lick your lips because you can taste the flavors of love, those nector's that only lovers get to taste. Smells that give you a tight feeling in the front of your blue jean shorts. Like a voyeur you are allowed to feel the story. A retirement of such a talent would indeed be a loss. Please do your best to talk him out of it. I know you can be persuasive.

Rachel,

He talks a little about it on his blog. Anything else I know is not mine to share.

Hugs,

RG

Well, RG, that was unexpected.

My thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read my stories. I like the thought of them being read. I pleased (and a bit surprised) that the titles of stories have stuck with people.

BTW, Rachel, "Back When We Were Happy" didn't make it into my short story print collection because it was seen as too depressing.

As for why I quit: I didn't. I decided that I had to stop being Mike Kimera for a while. The odd comment on this site has been the only exception to that.

I love writing. It allows me to be anything I can imagine. I miss it almost everyday.

But last year, I realised that I was using Mike Kimera to take refuge from the world and that the price of that refuge was that some fundamental things were not being paid attention.

So I stopped.

I've used the extra time by taking every opportunity to be with my wife (I'm away from home a lot), to support her in dealing with her father's incipient dementia and sorting out the financial and legal crap that goes with living in a country that is not your own.

In tweleve months I've written not one story.

I hope to return to writing later in the year.

I don't know if it will be erotica; it's not a genre my wife wants me to be involved with but it is one I seem to be attuned to.

RG, I promise that when/if I return to writing you will be the first to know.

I've also decided that I will put a site together to put all my old stories on. I'd like to know that they are out there somewhere.

Mike (you do have a wonderful nom de plume) thank you so much for stopping by with an explanation you didn't at all owe us.

I'm ever so glad you are planning a compilation website. I learn from good writers, and you are a good writer with a style I can relate to.

Thank you again.

I just fell in love with Mike right now just because he came here and explained his reasons for not writing right now when he didn't have to. How many people do you know that will do that when they really don't have to? I had read his stories in the past and will definitely read them all again, because it may or may not be any new ones. Mike, Thank you for sharing your gift with us when you did and as long as you did. I wish you nothing but happiness with whatever you decide to do in the future.

To RG, thank you for continuing to share your gift with us. Looking forward to reading whatever you share.

I was intrigued that you would offer another writer to us as more talented than you, so I went ahead and read Mike Kimera's words. I must say, he's very stimulating, but nothing like your stories. I come back to them over and over, and I hope that you never stop writing either.

I hate it when great writers and artists... just leave :( I mean I know some Artists that are so AWESOME and they seem to take their "GIFT" seriously :(
